I like the story by Scottish writer Henry Drummond (1851-97):
Two painters were once asked to paint a picture illustrating his own idea of rest. The first chose for his scene, a quiet, lonely lake, nestled among mountains far away. The second, using swift, broad strokes on his canvas, painted a thundering waterfall. Beneath the falls grew a fragile birch tree, bending over the foam. On its branches, nearly wet with the spray from the falls, sat a robin on its nest. (Streams in the Desert by L.B. Cowman, edited by Jim Reimann, Zondervan, 1997)
Paint brushes, pens and pencils form my nest with clay for mortar. I enjoy my perch by the waterfall of life.
You are welcome to my colourful and clay-ful nest.
